| To the Materials for the Arts Community, We hope this finds you and your loved ones healthy, and safe. We want to let you know we are still deeply committed to serving you and fulfilling our mission as we face these unprecedented times. When Materials for the Arts was created in 1978, the idea was simple: help arts organizations to get the materials they need to run their programs. Over the years, we have expanded the pool of people we support beyond arts organizations to include other nonprofits providing arts services to their constituencies, City agencies, and our public schools. We believe that access to the arts is a right, not a privilege and to that end, we strive to make our materials, your materials, available to all who qualify. On this special #GivingTuesday, we want to thank you and remind you that we will be here for our thousands of members of the arts and educational communities of NYC as we have been for the past four decades. Like many of you, we have found ourselves challenged and excited by the opportunity to innovate. Over the past seven weeks, we have launched the MFTA Online Education Center with virtual field trips, warehouse tours, gallery openings, and public programming. Together, in the coming months, we can continue to craft a vision of how creative reuse can inspire people in their daily lives. We understand that times are difficult now. We hope, if you are able to, that you will consider supporting us with a small gift as we meet the needs of our community head on.
