Between the Aisles: Celebrating a Year at NYC’s Premier Creative Reuse Center
You are formally invited to “Between the Aisles,” a celebration of Materials for the Arts (MFTA)! Join us on Thursday, March 20th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at The Shed’s Tisch Skylights for drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and roaming artist performances. The evening will conclude with a retrospective short film highlighting our organization’s strides in furthering our mission last year.
Since 1978, MFTA has championed the creative reuse movement in our city’s ever-evolving landscape. For nearly 50 years, MFTA has diverted much needed materials from landfill and placed them in the hands of New Yorkers —teachers, artists, change makers— across the city. MFTA’s nonprofit partner Friends of Materials for the Arts (FOMA) exists to support and strengthen MFTA’s Education Center and its robust: year-round workshops, free monthly programming, student field trips, in–school residencies, a high school repair program, a public art gallery space, an Artist-in-Residence and Designer-in-Residence program, an internship program, and an active volunteer program.
As New Yorkers’ needs grow, so does the need for our services. With an increasing demand for our programs, we invite you to consider becoming a sponsor for this event. Your sponsorship will help our education department provide more field trips for students, more professional development workshops for teachers, and support MFTA’s groundbreaking work as we continue to grow into the future.
