Unity is Medicine: A Curated Performance by Guadalupe Maravilla

Join us for “Unity is medicine“, an evening curated by Guadalupe Maravilla with performances featuring four artists: Cielo Felix-Hernandez, Tesora Garcia, Francheska Alcántara, and Cassandra Mayela Allen. This evening will arrive at a pivotal moment when people can come together to foster community, when it’s more important than ever to show solidarity with our immigrant neighbors and speak loudly in defense of our civil rights.  In these uncertain times, unity is medicine. Care is central to Guadalupe’s belief system and has chosen these four artists for their vital roles within their communities and the meaningful representations they bring to our society.

We will dance in the chaos and create a space of celebration, community, and healing to embody the lessons passed down from our ancestors. As part of the evening’s rituals, Guadalupe has invited these four artists to create offerings of performance and a post-performance beverage, broth, infusion or fermentation.
